1. Who We Are

Black Ambarella (Pty) Ltd, trading as Advance Booking SA, is the "responsible party" under POPIA for personal information processed through this Platform.

2. What Information We Collect

Full name; email address; phone/WhatsApp number; physical address or service location; booking details; payment confirmation data (we do not store full card details); device and usage information; and for Vendors: business registration details, service listings, images, banking details for payouts.

3. Why We Collect It (Purpose)

To create and manage accounts; facilitate bookings between Customers and Vendors; send booking confirmations, reminders, and updates via email and/or WhatsApp; process payments securely; respond to support queries and resolve disputes; improve and secure the Platform; and comply with legal obligations.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

Your consent given at registration and booking; necessity to perform a contract with you; our legitimate business interests; and compliance with legal obligations.

5. Who We Share Information With

The relevant Vendor or Customer, to the extent necessary to fulfil a booking; payment processors (PayFast); communication service providers (Resend for email, Twilio for WhatsApp/SMS); and legal or regulatory authorities where required by law. We do not sell your personal information.

6. International Transfers

Where service providers process data outside South Africa, we take reasonable steps to ensure compliance with POPIA's requirements for adequate protection.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes outlined, or as required by law.

8. Your Rights Under POPIA

Right to be informed; access your information; request correction; request deletion (subject to legal retention); withdraw consent; object to processing; and lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa. 9. Security Measures

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information, including secure hosting, access controls, and encrypted payment processing.

10. Direct Marketing

We will only send direct marketing if you have opted in, per Section 69 of POPIA. You may opt out at any time.

Our Platform may use cookies to improve functionality and analyse usage. You can control cookie preferences via your browser settings.
